Fredia Jo Hunt, 83, of Weir, MS, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Choctaw Regional Medical Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Beulah Cemetery, 6198 Weir-Panhandle Road, Weir, MS 39772. Rev. Hank Dempsey will officiate the services.
Fredia was born July 14, 1941, to Everett Hale Buck and Onex Montee Dorman in Carthage, MS. She worked for Weir-Panhandle Water Association for 41 years as a bookkeeper. Fredia was a member of Edgefield Baptist Church.
Fredia is survived by her husband, Billy Wayne Hunt of Weir, MS; son, Richard Randall Hunt of Weir, MS; daughter, Sheila Ann (Rodney) Rasco of Mathiston, MS; grandsons, Cody James and Justin (Courtney) Kirkman; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry Buck of Branch, MS and Joe Buck of Morton, MS; sister, Geneva Townsend of Louisville, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Hale Buck and Onex Montee Dorman, and her siblings, Charles Buck, Betty Moore, Hilda Leach, Kathy Harrell, and Helen Killen.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Kimbrough, Deryk Whittington, Justin Kirkman, Cody James, Zayne James, and Chad Townsend.
