Fred Allen Bell

February 17, 1941 — January 24, 2024

Fred Allen Bell, Jr. went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1941, to Fred Allen Bell, Sr. and Maragaret Fleming Bell in Kosciusko, Mississippi. He graduated from Kosciusko High School in 1960 and from the University of Mississippi in 1965. While at Ole Miss, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity where he was famous for being Santa at the annual Christmas party.

After college, he joined his father in the concrete business, Bell Ready Mix. The concrete business was his calling and true passion. Doing the job right and having a satisfied customer was of utmost importance to him. Over the years in the business, he cultivated many friends statewide, and it was a tight group. He was a member of the Mississippi Concrete Association. In later years, he was involved in other business ventures, Klean Kut Outdoors and Bell Chevrolet.

Fred Allen loved Kosciusko. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, member of the Rotary Club, Corporate Board member for First M & F Corporation, and Chairman of the Kosciusko Christmas Parade one year. His father had a love for cattle, horses, and his farmland Bellview Farms. Fred Allen followed in his father’s foot steps in his love for the farm as well. He spent countless hours cultivating the property and raising cattle with his lifelong friend J. L. Zollicoffer.

Fred Allen married Judi Simpson in 1968. They had been married for almost 56 years. He is survived by his wife Judi; daughter, Toy Bell Wolfe (Carl) and granddaughter, Rachel Wolfe of Pelahatchie; grandsons Avery (Ali) Wolfe of Dallas, Texas, Noah and Owen Wolfe of Starkville; son, Al Bell of Oxford; brother, Jimmie Bell (Becky) of Carthage; nephews, Gayden and Andy Bell of Carthage and their families.

The Family would like to thank the Kosciusko VA Nursing Home staff and valued caregiver Pearlie Miller for their love and kindness.
