Frank Clifton Bailey

January 11, 1947 — September 20, 2024

It is with a heavy heart, yet with complete confidence in God’s perfect plan, we announce the passing of local businessman and sportsman, Frank Clifton Bailey, 77, of Kosciusko, MS.

Frank was born on January 11, 1947, to Jane Lord and Clifton Dallas Bailey. He graduated from Kosciusko High School in 1965 and from Mississippi State University four years later in 1969 with a B.A. Degree in Accounting. Frank was a brother in the Kappa Alpha Order while at Mississippi State University.

On May 31, 1969, Frank married Wanda Jordan, (Sissy) and soon moved to the Mississippi Coast to begin their professional careers, he as an auditor with Mississippi Power Company and she as a teacher.

After a short stint in Gulfport and a face-to-face encounter with Hurricane Camille, Frank and Sissy returned to Kosciusko as Sales Manager for LuVel Dairy until 1981.

Frank joined his father, Dal, in operating Companion Vans, Inc., a custom van conversion business with offices in both McGregor, TX and Kosciusko, MS.

Along with a lifelong love of the outdoors and cooking, Frank loved, most of all, showing Tennessee walking horses with his family and friends. He owned, partially trained, and showed these majestic animals along with his wife and daughters for most of his adult life. Frank could always be found at his barn just east of Kosciusko with a smile on his face.

Frank was preceded in death by a younger brother, Jon Dallas Bailey, and both of his parents, as well as a nephew, West Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Sissy, of 55 years as well as two loving daughters, Jenny Bailey Jones (William) and Kelly Bailey Powers (Jonathan).

Four grandchildren, Sara Bailey Jones, Lizzie Kate Jones, Bailey Davis Powers, and Emerson Jane Powers, all mourn the loss of a loving Paco, as he was affectionately known to them.

Frank leaves a brother, Jan Bailey (Cheryl); a nephew, Jon Bailey (Tracey); and nieces, Anne Lord Bailey, Stephanie Douglas, and Katie Ross (Jeff).

Jonathan Powers, William Jones, Bailey Powers, Jon Bailey, George R. Douglas, III, and Bob Jordan will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Carter, Ken Fowler, David Hatchett, Roy Bailey Braswell, Bill Cullen, Willie “Fox” Fletcher, Jim Ganann, and Jimmy Jenkins.

The family request in lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to the West Bailey Memorial Scholarship, Holmes Community College Development Foundation, P. O. Box 527, Goodman, Mississippi 39079.
