Mrs. Frances Jones Braswell McClelland, 99, of Kosciusko, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Atwood Personal Care Home in Kosciusko. She had been a resident there for seven years. Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bethsaida Cemetery, near French Camp. Rev. Dick Hill will officiate. She was born January 30, 1918, in Poplar Creek, to William Holloway and Lillian Carter Jones. She was the youngest of nine children. Mrs. McClelland retired from Sears Catalog Sales after 25 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kosciusko, serving as a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. She was a charter member, and a past president of the Evening Garden Club, very active in community affairs, a past president of Business and Professional Women of Kosciusko, and served as a colonel of two Governor's Staffs. Her greatest accomplishments in life were being a Christian, and her love for her family and friends. Those surviving her are a goddaughter, Delorise Braswell Adams, and her husband, Frank; their children, Laura Hunt Carraway, and husband, Thomas, Jennifer Adams McGary, and husband, Jon David; and their children, Tyler, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Abbie, and Emma Hunt, and Cody and Colin McGary, all of McCool; a nephew, Dr. Alvin Curtis, of Atlanta, GA, niece, Carolyn Greenlee, of Winona, and a special niece, Eleanor Gibson, of Atlanta, GA; and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lonnie O. Braswell, and James McClelland; parents; three brothers, Dr. Hamond Jones, Stanford Jones, and Carter Jones; and five sisters, Olene, Blanche, Alva, Lois, and Marion.
