Faye Elizabeth Gilbert

Faye Elizabeth Gilbert, 82, passed away in Greenville, SC. Cremation has been effected. Faye was born May 21, 1932 in Kosciusko, MS to Thomas W. and Ada Lee Weeks Gilbert. She attended Aponauge grade school and graduated from McAdams High School in 1950. Faye enjoyed all sports and was an avid basketball player. Her working career began in the Aponauge Textile Mill until it closed. She then worked in several states before settling in South Carolina. Faye is survived by one sister, Doris York and husband, John of Arkansas City, KS; nieces, Sandra, Kaye, Marie, Barbara, Jean, Bonnie Lou, Donna, Jan, and Diane; nephews, Jerry, Billy, Glen, Ricky, Tony, Jimmie, and Tommie; and numerous sisters -in-law and friends. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Nettie, Jewel Dean, Hassie Lou, Leta, and Helen; brothers, Billy, James, Lamar (Buddy), and Thomas W. II (Junior); and special friend Molly Walton. Those who knew Faye and her family are invited to gather from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 1015 for a night of remembering and visiting at Jordan Funeral Home on Hwy 12 in Kosciusko. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.
