Ephraim Sam Dodd, Sr., 79, Sergeant First Class, US Army Retired, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Williamsville Baptist Church in Kosciusko. Burial will be in Conehoma Cemetery. Rev. Junior Davis will officiate. Mr. Dodd was born April 8, 1935 to George and Kate Dodd. He was retired from 24 years of service in the United States Army; he was also employed nine years with ARCO and five years with Geothermal Energy in California. For the last 30 plus years he'd been the owner and operator of Hillside Vineyard and Berry Farm near Kosciusko. He was a member of Williamsville Baptist Church. Those surviving Mr. Dodd are his wife, of 54 years, Betty Glaze Dodd; sons, George Malcolm (Lorelei) Dodd, of Austin, TX, Ephraim Sam (Shelly) Dodd, Jr., of Kosciusko, and James Simmons (Lisa) Dodd, of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Brad, Samantha, Austin, Jakob, Liberty, Melody, Dustin and Brennen Dodd; a brother, David Dodd, of Corinth; and sisters, Mary Katherine Browning, of Jackson, and Sue Fleming, of Kosciusko. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ben Aaron, Sr., Bill and Hugh Allen Dodd. Pallbearers are his sons and grandsons; Honorary Pallbearers are, Ben Aaron, Jr. George Allen, John Mark, Nathan and Will Dodd, Charles Harvey and Earl Dodd Browning, Joel and Kelly Fleming, Willie Fletcher, Gene Irving, Cecil Massey and Bobby Taylor. Memorials may be sent to Williamsville Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
