Elsie Hughes Young

Elsie Young, 89, died Monday, May 9, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Carthage. Visitation is from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Thomastown Baptist Cemetery. Rev. James Young will officiate. She was a member of Thomastown Baptist Church. She retired from AT&T Company. She was loved by everyone and everyone loved her. Survivors include her daughters, Johnnie Netherland of Thomastown and Joanne Jones of Pickens; grandchildren, Jessica Harrell Kiefer of Standing Pine; Jensen Jones of Carthage, and Stormy Netherland of Thomastown; great-grandson, Jared Kiefer; and sister, Virginia Jane Clark of Thomastown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Hughes; parents, Seth Garrett and Jessie Mae Blailock Young; and brothers, Roy Bain Young and Jimmy Martin Young. Pallbearers are James Young, Donald Young, Tom Kiefer, Jeffery Gough, Jeff Montgomery, and David Shelley. Memorials may be sent to the Thomastown Baptist Cemetery fund.
