Elizabeth Cook Edwards Brandon, formerly of Kosciusko Elizabeth Cook Edwards, 88, died Sunday morning at Peach Tree Village in Brandon, Mississippi, where she was surrounded by loving family members and tenderly cared for by the staff of Peach Tree throughout her stay there. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi at 10:00am, Wednesday October 4th, with her funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will be immediately following the service at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Mrs. Edwards is the daughter of Amos and Perle Cook. She was a graduate of Kosciusko High School and Draughn's Business College. She was a former member of The New Book Lovers Club and an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed being a part of the Mary Thornton Sunday school class. Preceding her in death were her husband, Orrin Wendell Edwards, Sr., parents and siblings, Sybil Cook Holt and Aaron Rosemond Cook. She is survived by her sister, Mavis Cook Shelton; her daughter, Lisa Edwards Therrell, and son, Orrin Wendell Edwards, Jr. (Robin); grandchildren Will (Amber) Therrell, Clay (Lauren) Therrell and Ryan Therrell of Brandon, Mississippi; Jordan Edwards of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Tori Edwards of Nottingham, New Hampshire; and great granddaughters Suttyn May Therrell, Salter Rose Therrell and Stella Clay Therrell. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles in her "nest" as she often called it. Nothing warmed her heart more than experiencing her family being together, especially when accompanied by her great cooking. She was a long-time volunteer at the Natchez Trace – Kosciusko Information and Tourist Center, as well as a member of the KHS Class of '47. Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy, 1 Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745, First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko, 603 Smythe Street, Kosciusko, MS 39090, or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Will Therrell, Clay Therrell, Ryan Therrell, Owen Oliver, Eddie Thomas and David Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Barrentine and Greg LeVert.
