Elaine Wallace Cade

April 28, 1933 — December 13, 2020

Mrs. Elaine Wallace Cade was born April 28, 1933, in the community of Brock, Carroll County, MS to John Cleavon Wallace, Sr. and Katie Elmer Devine Wallace. After graduating West High School, she sought a Legal Assistant/Paralegal certification from Southern Career Institute. She was an active member for many years in Unity Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, WMU member, youth director, Senior Adult leader, choir member, and pianist. She had a passion for her family, her church, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She worked as a Secretary, Office Manager and Legal Assistant. She was married January 15, 1950 to Thomas W. (Tom) Cade from the Rockport Community near Possumneck in Attala County where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Cade was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Tom) Cade; her parents, Her sisters, Lois Thompson, Lucy Walker King, Margaret Sisney, Mary Yates, and Ruby Land; brothers, John, Jr. and Ray. Survivors are son, Dewayne Cade (Mary) and daughter Teresa Montague (Frank). Grandsons Cade Montague and Matt Cade (Rachael); granddaughters, Julie Harman (Ben), MacKenzie Davidson (Paul), Casey Johnson (Nathan), and Dr. Mirae Wood (Jay). Great-grandchildren, Elena, Isaiah and Thomas Harman, Lily and Caleb Davidson, Laken and Kinzley Johnson, Eli, Georgia Ann and Millie Cade; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 19th at Smyrna Cemetery. Rev. Gene Richardson will officiate. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Matt Cade, Jay Wood, Paul Davidson, Cade Montague, Nathan Johnson and Dewayne Cade. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Smyrna Cemetery Fund c/o Holmes County Bank, West, MS 39212 or Blair E. Batson Children’s Research Hospital.
