Edwin Ronald "Ed" Nell

Edwin Ronald Nell was born to Wilbur Henry Nell and Katie Maude Nell on October 15, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio. The family moved to Jackson, MS in 1955. Ed graduated from Wingfield High School in 1970. He earned an Associates in Applied Science degree from Hinds Junior College in June of 1972. He joined the United States Navy in September of 1972 and served three years in Norfolk, Virginia. Ed began working for Mississippi Valley Gas, which was later bought out by Atmos Energy,after being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1975. He worked in Jackson until 1987 when he transferred to Southaven, MS. He was construction and maintenance supervisor there until he transferred to Kosciusko in 1994 as District Superintendent. He retired from Atmos Energy in 2008 after 32 years of employment. Ed was a member of the Kosciusko First Baptist Church and a member of the Kosciusko Exchange Club for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Katie Nell. He is survived by a son, Timothy Nell and a daughter, Katie Nell both of Kosciusko; sister, Carol (Jim Stevens) Carr of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Richard (Doris) Nell of Terry, MS; neice, Cindy (Rodney) Smith of Kosciusko, MS; nephews, Ricky Nell of Terry, MS., Shannon (Nicki) Carr of Dallas, TX., Joe (Kalie) Carr of Grand Junction, Colorado; 4 great neices and 2 great nephews.
