Edna Frances Poland Scoggin died peacefully the morning of January 20th, 2016 at her home in Montgomery, AL. Services for Frances P. Scoggin, 92, will be held at 1 PM on January 23rd, 2016 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS with a viewing at 11AM and burial will follow the ceremony at Parkway Cemetery. Jordan Funeral Home on Highway 12 East is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Scoggin was the wife of Lt. Col. Lockwood B. Scoggin, USAF Ret. (1923-2013) and was born March 27th, 1923 in the city of Ransom, West Virginia. They were married in Tonepah, NV on January 28th, 1945 prior to Lt. Col. Scoggin's departure to the South Pacific March 3rd, 1945. She had graduated with him from Kosciusko High School in 1941. Aside from being a role model as a mother, active in all aspects of her four children's upbringing, she was active in the Officer's Wife's Club for 29 years. While stationed with her family in Nancy, France, she schooled in the French culinary arts and took classes in drawing and painting. She served for 3 years as the Office Chairman and then Coordinator of USAFE Family Services in which capacity she was cited by General G.P. Disoway as an outstanding coordinator and volunteer of the year who contributed to the mission of the 7544th Combat Support Group and USAFE. She was a member of the Whitfield United Methodist and a member of the United Methodist's Women's Club and a member of the Keystone S.S. Class. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lockwood, and her parents, Clyde Roland Poland and Minnie Neill Winkler Poland. Her survivors include her sister Naomi May Poland Jordan, her daughter, Vicki Scoggin and her sons, Lockwood B. Scoggin Jr. and wife Cyndy Scoggin, Steven Scoggin and wife Martha Scoggin and Rodger Scoggin and wife Cherri Scoggin. Also surviving Mrs. Scoggin are her 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchildren.
