Dorothy Lynn Brown Green, 88, of Kosciusko, MS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at The Willows in Kosciusko. Dot was surrounded by her family and her Willows family. She was born on September 21, 1935, to Lila Mae Petty Brown and Charlie Pascal Brown in Scott County, MS. She graduated from Sebastopol High School in 1954, then went on to play basketball on scholarship at East Central. She later attended MSU.
Dot was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kosciusko and was active in WMU for many years. She was an avid gardener and was a member of several garden clubs. She was the Kosciusko Junior High Librarian for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bidwell Allen Green; her parents; her brothers, Finley Brown and Petty Brown; her sister, Sarah Elizabeth Allred; and Willie Charles Lang. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Green Myers (Steve); two grandsons, Steven Holland Myers, II (Drew) and Wesley Hardage Myers (Shea); great-grandchildren, William Holland Myers, Samuel Ewing Myers, Dottie Kate Myers, and Riggs Matthew Myers all of Kosciusko, MS. Also, she is survived by one sister, Emily P. Cooksey of Scott County, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Jordan Funeral Home. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Parkway Cemetery. Bro. Luke Gardner will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Terry Cooksey, Jerry Cooksey, Charlie Cooksey, Holland Myers, Wesley Myers, William Myers, Samuel Myers, Robert Barham, and Clell Allred.
