Dorothy Elaine Mayo

Dorothy Elaine Mayo, 92, of Ethel, MS passed away December 12, 2021 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation is Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 9a.m. until 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral Services are Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Ethel Baptist Church with Burial to follow at Harmony Cemetery. Rev. Matt Steed will be ministering. She attended Ethel Baptist Church and a member of V.F. W. Woman’s Auxillary. She was a factory worker at Garan, Lawrin Lamp, and Interstate. She was also a homemaker. Elaine is survived by two sons Dennis Mayo and Glenn Mayo (Dianne) of Ethel, MS; two daughters Debra Mayo Hodge (Mac) of Byram, MS and Carol Mayo Sanders (Henry Welch) of West, MS ; one sister Lillie Ellington of Kosciusko, MS ; eight grandchildren ; fifteen great-grandchildren ; one great-great grandchild ; and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton Smith Bain and Roxie Belle Pettus Bain; husband James E. Mayo ; two brothers Talmadge “Sonny” Bain and Edwin “Ed” Bain ; great grandchild Bailee Claire Wilson ; one infant sister, and one infant brother. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Boutwell, Caleb Hutson, Keith Bain, Rusty Bain, Ray Ellington, and Wes Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne DuBard and Mark Ellington.
