Doris Crenshaw Sweatt

July 19, 1926 — November 4, 2022


Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, Mississippi with Reverend Gary Glazier officiating.


She was born July 19, 1926, in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi, and moved to West Plains, Missouri, during high school. After graduation she moved to Winona, Mississippi and began her career with Bellsouth, now known as AT&T. It was there that she met Rufus Sweatt. While residing in Kosciusko, she was a member of the Kosciusko First United Methodist Church. BP&W Club, Chairman of the King and Queen of Hearts Contest, a long-time volunteer with the Natchez Trace Visitors Center and a member of the Big Red Band Booster Club. She was also a recipient of the Golden Shovel Award for her work on flower beds in the city. She will be missed by her family and friends.


She is survived by her daughters Jeri Ewing and her husband Charlie and Bobbi Knepper and her husband Dale, grandchildren: Charlie Ewing, Jr. and his wife Amy and Lucas Knepper.


She is preceded in death by her parents: James Stanley and Mary Troupe Blair Crenshaw, her husband Rufus Sweatt and her daughter Cynthia Sweatt.


Pallbearers: Charlie Ewing, Dale Knepper, Lucas Knepper, Martin Chambers and David Landrum.
