Dennis Gene Sims

Dennis Gene Sims, 78, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his home. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp with three tours in Vietnam. He then spent 27 years driving a truck. Survivors include his wife, Gwen Sims of Ethel; children, daughter, Laura Roggero of Commerce, MI, daughter, Stacy Costilow of Ethel, daughter, Jennie Watkins of Ethel, son, Marty Sims of Ferndale, MI, and daughter, Yvonne Vesely of MI; best friend for 60 years, Gary Fokken; seven grandchildren, Chanel, Joseph, Jeremy, Chelsey, Hope, Trent, and Erin; five great-grandchildren, Myla, Hunter, Sadee, James, and David; brothers, Roy Johnson and wife, Kay of IL and Hal Sims of Charleston, IL; sisters, Johnna Nadolny and husband, Pete of IL, Sandy Willison of IL, Jerry Hatfill of IL, and Michael Brough of CN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Kyle and Bettie Lou Beals.
