Curtis E. Burrell

May 5, 1936 — November 22, 2014

Mr. Burrell was born May 5, 1936 to Grady and Pearl Burrell. He was a three year Veteran of the United States Army, a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, and a post graduate of the University of South Alabama. He was a public school educator for 37 and a half years, and retired as Superintendent of the Attala County Schools. Mr. Burrell attended Sallis Baptist Church and the Williamsville Assembly of God. Those surviving him are his son, Curtis E. Burrell, Jr.; daughters, Jill Miller, Laura Lee Dartez, Annette O'regan, Elizabeth Tanksley; step-daughters, Jennifer Lubiani, and Mitzi Magleby; grandchildren, Jonathon Hammons, Josh Hammons, Blake Dartez, Regan Dartez, Kaleigh Dartez, Keegan Burrell, and Lauren Roths; and a sister, Frances Duck. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, by one week, Emogene J. Burrell; a brother, Grady Burrell; and a sister, Ruby Parker. Pallbearers are Buddy Almon, Richie Armstrong, Joel Edlin, Ferlon Lepard, John Miller, Clay Sanders, Devyn Shing, and Joe White. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
