Cornelia Dean Hudgins

July 31, 1923 — May 27, 2015

Mrs. Cornelia Dean Cain Spears Hudgins, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at her daughter's home in Pascagoula, MS, surrounded by the love of three generations of family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee Cain and Eddie Mae Counts; husband of 23 years Virgil T. Spears; husband of 42 years, Paden Hudgins; four children, Patricia Spears McMahon, Eddy Ray Spears, Keith Allan Spears, Mickey Doyle Spears; two grandsons, Rodney Todd Spears (infant) and Ronnie Dean Spears; siblings Robert Cain, Johnny Cain, James Hugh Cain, Dennis Cain, Edith Cain Buckelew, Lois Cane Malone, Diddy Cain Webster, and Peggy Cain. She is survived by children, Ronnie Spears & wife Brenda of Auburndale Florida, Randy Spears, and wife, Carol, of Kosciusko, Linda Spears Kuykendall, and husband, Luther, of Pascagoula, Sandy Spears Slade, and husband, David, of Kosciusko, and Tim Spears of Houston, Texas; stepdaughters, Adrienne Hudgins, of Portage, Indiana, and Juli Hudgins, of Chicago, Illinois, and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Moore; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Diane, and husband, Jimmy Anderson, of Magnolia, MS. Mrs. Hudgins was born July 31, 1923, in Kosciusko. She graduated from McAdams High School in 1941. With her warm smile and sparkling eyes, she was a familiar face while employed at several businesses throughout the area. After retiring, she continued making people feel at home while volunteering at the Natchez Trace Welcome Center, and being a dedicated member of Parkway Baptist Church. Affectionately known as "Mama Dean", she was mother to many, loved by all, and will live forever in our hearts.
