Cora Bell Kemp

Mrs. Cora Kemp, 92, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Baptist- Attala Hospital. Visitation is 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Larry Harvey is officiating.

Cora was born October 25, 1930, to William Chesley Bell and Mary Glee Howard Bell in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was a Kosciusko First United Methodist Church member and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She worked at Gibson’s Discount Store, Boyd’s Drug Store, and Kosciusko High School, where she retired. Cora was a huge football fan. She loved the Kosciusko Whippets, Mississippi State, Alabama, and the New Orleans Saints. Her favorite football players were her grandsons, Colby and Eli Kemp, and she enjoyed watching them play.

Cora is survived by her son, Franklin (Jennifer) Kemp of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and grandchildren, Marlee Barnes, Colby Kemp, and Eli Kemp. A host of nieces and nephews also survived her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Chesley Bell and Mary Glee Howard Bell, husband, Junior Kemp, sisters, Net Grantham and Hazel Herring and brothers, Lane Bell and Harry Bell.

Serving as pallbearers are Franklin Kemp, Colby Kemp, Eli Kemp, Roy A. Bell, Roy Bell, and Dennis Bell.
