Claire Cooper Burchfield, 88, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Tabernacle Cemetery near Ethel. Randy Rhodes will officiate the services, and Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko will handle the arrangements.

Claire was a retired administrative assistant for the Washington County Extension Service and Forestry Commission and was a Tabernacle United Methodist Church member. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her children, and cooking homemade meals for her family. It was her pride and joy. Claire had been a resident of Highland Home for the last four years. Her strength came from her faith in Jesus Christ, scripture, and prayers.

Claire is survived by two sons, Mark Burchfield of Florence, AL, and David Burchfield; two daughters, Susan (Mark) Howington of McDonough, GA., and Pam (John) Belton of Madison, MS; five grandchildren, Matt Burchfield, Brittany Burchfield (Michael Brown), Paul Howington, Ashley Belton, and Lisa (Cory) Grubbs; four great-grandchildren. Mattie Burchfield, Lacie Grubbs, Vannie Grubbs, and Abbie Grubbs.

Her parents, Hubert Eugene and Clarabelle Cooper, husband, Marvin Burchfield, and one brother, Hubert Eugene Cooper Jr., preceded her in death.
