Chester Graham Barnes

Chester Graham Barnes (8/30/1933 to 4/10/2016) A man of few words, He was deliberate and exact. A diligent worker worthy of trust. Dependable and sure His quiet demeanor camouflaged his strength and determination; but rest assured, he was a man's man. Fiercely protective of his loved ones; they felt safe and secure in his presence. His integrity came from his walk with God. He carried courage in one hand and tenderness in the other. His patient spirit rendered peace to any situation. Always willing to help, but never interfered. Chester Barnes was an asset to his community, a tribute to his heritage and a friend to all. Chester is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Barnes and Flora Graham Barnes, sister, Lucy Ball, and brother, Charles Barnes (Ouida). He is survived by sisters, Mary Kyle (Weldon), Marion Jenkins, Margie Creason (Jerry) and Frances Cockroft (Jerry) . Children, Dianne Luckett (Buddy), Gary Barnes, Robbie Barnes, Tammy Barnes McFarland (Ernie) and Brenda Barnes Clark (Tony), ten grandchildren, five step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends who were counted as family. Visitation will be at Jordan Funeral Home, Hwy 12, Kosciusko, MS on Thursday, April 14 from 9-11 am with a celebration of his life there at 11. Interment will be at the Parkway Cemetery, Hwy 12, Kosciusko immediately following. Officiating the service will be Rev. Billy Frazure, Shiloh Methodist Church. Serving as pallbearers are: Wes Carter, Brad Carter, Kenneth McMurtrey, Philip Barnes, Jerry Creason, Jason Creason, Webb Chipley, Chase Chipley and honorary pall bearers, Jerry Tony Clark II, Charles Jenkins, Walter Chipley, Don Cockroft, Richard Cockroft, Paul Barnes, Glen Barnes and Shannon Chunn.
