Charlsie Mae Graham Hammond

Mrs. Charlsie Mae Graham Hammond, an elementary school teacher, died June 3, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center, in Jackson. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate. Mrs. Hammond was born and reared in Ethel, MS, and moved to Kosciusko in 1953. She taught in the Port Gibson Public Schools, the Ethel Public Schools, and the Kosciusko Public Schools. She was a Christian and a member of Kosciusko First Baptist Church, serving in various departments of the church. She was active as a volunteer in organizations of her town and community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Y. Hammond, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Mary Black Graham; and a brother, Ernest Graham. Those surviving her are her son, Robert Y. Hammond, Jr., of Nashville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Jerry Price, of Kosciusko; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Ben Frank, Angela and Robert Leech, and Jay and Amy Price; great-grandsons, Nicholas Frank, Noah Frank, Loftin Price, Lucas Price, and Colin Leech; great-granddaughters, Madeline Frank, Mary Kimble Price, and Carleigh Leech; and her brothers, Robert Graham of Meadville, MS, and Tom Graham of Senatobia, MS. Mrs. Hammond's family extends special thanks to her caregivers, Pearl Miller, Bobbie Roby, Sara Boyd, Georgia Brown, and Betty Suggs. Pallbearers will be Ben Frank, Robert Leech, Jay Price, Nicholas Frank, Noah Frank, Loftin Price, Lucas Price, and Colin Leech. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Charles Ray Graham, Robert (Bob) Graham, Tommy Graham, Ernest (Bubba) Graham, Bradley Graham, and Jimmy Gardner. Memorials may be sent to the Kosciusko First Baptist Church's Television Ministry, Library, or Missions, to French Camp Academy, or to the Attala Historical Society.
