Bill "Big Boy" Mcknight

Mr. Bill “Big Boy” McKnight, 84, of Kosciusko, MS passed away December 14, 2022, at Golden Triangle Regional Hospital. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022, and 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Art Land and Rev. Don Cook will officiate.


Bill was born August 2, 1938, in McCool, MS to William Silas McKnight and Laverne Leach McKnight. He attended Draughon’s Business College in Jackson. He was a contractor and carpenter for McKnight and Barr Construction. Bill had retired from French Camp Academy. He was a long-time member of Parkway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and treasurer. He was able to serve on five mission trips also.


Bill is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Martha McKnight; sons, Jeff (Gwen) McKnight of Moorehead, MS and Kevin (Ellen) McKnight of Brandon, MS; brother, Bobby (Sue) McKnight of McCool, MS; sister, Nell Black of McCool, MS; grandchildren, Brock (Beverly) McKnight of Meridian, MS, Michael (Meghan) McKnight of Corinth, MS, and Henry (Hannah Grace) McKnight of Brandon, MS; great-grandchildren, Eisley McKnight, J.W. McKnight, and John Parker McKnight.


He was preceded in death by his parents, William Silas McKnight and Laverne Leach McKnight, and brother-n-law, Charles Kelly Black.


Serving as pallbearers are Cully Newman, Shane Black, Rusty McKnight, Chuck Settlemire, Jimmy Cockroft, and Norris Wilkerson. Serving as honorary pallbearers Alton Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Jack Ellington, Terry Pettit, George Patton, Brock McKnight, Michael McKnight, and Henry McKnight.
