Bettye Steed Day

Mrs. Bettye Steed Day, 81, of Madison, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital, in Jackson. Visitation is Tuesday, December 22, from 12:30 till 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home, in Kosciusko. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. John Patterson will officiate. Mrs. Day was born November 5, 1934, in Attala County, to Sam and Renna Mangrum Steed. She was a homemaker and a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Those surviving her are her sisters; Carol Steed White, of Madison, Barbara Steed Batton, of Jackson, and Linda Steed Milner, of Kosciusko; nieces and nephews, Mike Flanagan, Ricky Steed, Glenn Steed, Kenneth Steed, Julia Doucette, Steve Steed, Kirby White, and Katie Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Malcolm Day; five brothers, and one sister. Memorials may be sent to the Humane Society, or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
