Bettie Ann Sims Mccool

July 18, 1925 — February 13, 2020

Mrs. Bettie Ann (Sims) McCool, 94 a beautiful age, passed peacefully February 13, 2020, into the loving arms of her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ in their home in Jackson, MS with daughter, Peggie and friends. In her youth, she was a member of the Carson Ridge Baptist Church in Ethel, MS and in mid-life she became a member of Springdale Baptist Church of Kosciusko, MS: where she was re-baptized as she sojourned through life. In earlier years she worked at the Cotton Mill as a Loom Shovel Refiller, touching many lives along the way. She served as a member of the Springdale Youth Center Water Association for her local community as President. Born July 18, 1925, Bettie, who was a precious Mother was the fourth child in a family of nine children to the parents of Charlie B. Sims and Zelda Boyette Sims in the town of Ethel, MS on rural route called "The Sims Hill" where there was a lot of red clay. On Sunday morning, she busied herself getting ready for God's word through the teachings of Dr. Charles Stanley of Atlanta, GA, Dr. David Jeremiah of Shadow Mountain Church, CA and Pastor John Hagee of San Antonio, TX. Mrs. Bettie (Mr. Will called her) was a lover of nature. She was an avid gardener. At any given moment you would find her outside in her gardens, sprucing them up or watering as she had an amazing green thumb. She also loved sharing with others her awesome collection of pot flowers and garden plants (a true delight for her.) She acquired several nick names over her lifetime. Ms. Bettie, Sweetie, Bettie Ann, Aunt Bettie and Mama Bettie. Mamma Bettie was a well-known figure for the extended Bellsouth family because of the enjoyment of fellowship and her famous coconut cakes. Her community loved her German chocolate cakes, as well. Mama Bettie was always ready to go to an Antique Shop with her girls and friends, she expressed it this way "it is candy for the eyes." She adored every minute. Her family of daughters and friends as she often referred to them are Barbara Suggett, Doris Faye Johnson of Kosciusko, Karen Langford, Linda Davenport, Linda Bowen, Ramona Brister, Betty Wright of Jackson, Rosemary Warren of TN and Shereia Fulton and sister, Helen Neely of TX.
