Bennie Joe Musselwhite of Memphis, TN died on May 1, 2023. There will be a graveside service at the Carson Ridge Cemetery in Ethel, MS at 1:00pm on Friday, May 5, 2023. Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS is in charge.
Mr. Musselwhite was preceded in death by his parents Purvis Stevens McMains and Gary O. McMains. He leaves behind two step-sisters, Sheryl Dunlap (Lester) and Wanda Meter (Cornel) and a cousin who cared for him, Lacye Schmidt (Henrik). He also leaves behind several good friends in Memphis, TN and Houston, TX.
Mr. Musselwhite was born in Kosciusko, MS on Jan. 2, 1949. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1967 and from Delta State University in accounting in 1971.
He worked in the insurance business as an underwriter in both Houston and Memphis for several years and was retired from the Internal Revenue Service.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Houston, TX where he was a member of the Adventuring Single-Aires Sunday School Class. He also attended Christ Church in Memphis, TN where he was a member of the Positive Christian Singles Class.
He enjoyed football of the Houston Oilers, and TN Titans, and baseball of the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros. He was a classic movie enthusiast and also an avid reader of science fiction.
