Ronnie Sims

Ronnie Sims, 73, of Orange Beach, AL formerly of Kosciusko, Mississippi passed away May 2, 2023. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home. Graveside services are at 11:00 a.m., Friday May 5, 2023, at Parkway Cemetery. Donny Sims will officiate the services.

Ronnie was born October 6, 1949, to William C. Sims and Neta Hammond Sims in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

He loved attending Worship on the Waters at Florabama. Ronnie was fiercely independent, so very stubborn, and had a huge heart for loved ones. He was a Christian man that loved God and would tell you straight up how much grace he had experienced from Jesus. Ronnie loved Orange Beach, his plants, birdfeeders, flip-flops, his golf cart, and Rouses Hot Bar. He was referred to as “the baby” of the family.

Ronnie is survived by his precious daughter, Shannon Sims Kimbriel of Meridian, Mississippi; special friend, Wanda Beard of Orange Beach, Alabama; sisters in law, Peggy Sims in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Janice Sims of Kosciusko, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Sonny Overbey of Jackson, Mississippi. He was loved as Uncle Ronnie to a host of nieces and nephews that adored him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Overbey Sims; his parents,, William and Neta Sims; brothers, Earl Sims and Ralph Sims; sisters, Charlotte Sims (Richard) Bane and Emily Sims (Clay) Busbea.

He enjoyed giving to Baptist Children's Village, and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Baptist Children's Village P.O. Box 27 Clinton, Mississippi 39060.
