Minnie Eudora Billings Jones

Minnie Billings Jones, 92, of Sumner passed away October 19th at Quitman County Hospital. She was born September 26, 1923, to the late Georgiann and Henry Rollin Billings. She grew up in Attala County and moved to the Delta in the early 50's. She worked with her husband Cecil Jones, who preceded her in death, for many years in the service station and convenience store business. She was a member of the Church of Christ. During her retirement years, she enjoyed growing beautiful green potted plants and flowers in the yard. She also loved pets and always seemed to have a small dog. Minnie was devoted to her large family, considering each member a blessing from God. Her love radiated when you were near her. She spent her last days in assisted living at Flower's Manor in Clarksdale, and when nursing care was needed she went to Quitman County Nursing Home in Marks. Minnie's children were Henry Cecil Jones, Jr. (1939-1940), Marshall Anderson Jones (Jamie Whitworth), Emogene Jones Burrell (1943-1014) (Curtis 1936-2014), William Waverly Jones "Wade" (1946-1972), Cecil Allen Jones, and Eva Helen Jones Almon (Buddy). Her many grandchildren include Marshall Anderson "Andy" Jones, Jr. (Alicia Whaley), Andrea Marchel Jones "Angie" Miller (Jason Rauschenberger), Mitzi Rene Lubiani Magleby (John), Jennifer Jones Lubiani, Stephanie Kay White, Rebecca Rene White (Jared Jenkins), Scott Henry Ray (Sheila Beasley), James Allen Jones (Amy Pesek), Amy Lois Jones Edlin (Joel), Carol Faye Jones Turner (Lee), Waverly Suzette Almon Harkins (Michael), and Wendy Renee Almon. The great grandchildren are Robert Andrew "Drew" Miller, William Anderson "Will" Miller, Carrie Elizabeth Burrell Tanksley (Jason), Lauren Ashley Magleby Roths (Adam), Stephen Michael White (l993-2008), Taylor Andrew Jenkins, Rorie Ann Jenkins, Tiffany Mariam Ray Jones (Timothy), Stephanie Ashton Ray, Hunter Wade Jones, Dustin Blake Jones, Lydia Catherine Edlin, Devyn Lou Shing, Alexander Lou "Alex" Shing, Anna Sophia Olivia Turner (July 3, 2011), George Thomas Turner, Anne Almon Harkins and Walter Wade Harkins. Her great, great grandchildren are Lane Taylor Waldrup, Rylan Peyton Lee, and Paxton Timothy Jones.
