Born Hayes Lamar Wade, Jr. on April 9th, 1948, in Kosciusko, MS, “Buster,” as he was later named by his grandfather, was the son of Hayes Lamar and Corinne Wade. His exceptional character, kindness, intelligence and work ethic were evident from an early age. He excelled in studies at Ethel High School and Mississippi State University, where he received a degree in Forestry. Buster’s career was highlighted by natural leadership and rapid recognition of his talents, with promotion to management positions within the companies for which he worked. He was active in the Logger’s Association, where he advocated for the fair treatment of loggers. He was an instrumental leader in a sawmill project in Romania, attempting to export known best practices to that area. His leadership, knowledge and work ethic extended to entrepreneurship in the creation of two companies: Timberland Resources, a procurement company, and the Spring Forest Logging company. Buster was well-known and respected in Forestry for not only his brilliant mind and resourcefulness, but more importantly, for his fairness, kindness, and love of his fellow man. Most who knew him afforded him the utmost respect and devotion. Buster’s love of God and his family were paramount to him. He sacrificed and gave continually to meet physical needs, but his love, especially for his children and grandchildren, was unwavering and unconditional. He quietly and humbly lived out his faith in Christ, treating others accordingly. Buster passed quietly in his home in McCool on November 18, 2020, after a lengthy illness. He leaves his family broken-hearted, yet thankful, both for their time with him and the prospect of seeing him again one day, in heaven. Buster is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debra McGee Wade; his children, Kimberly (James) Robinson, Dr. Hayes Lamar Wade, III (Sarah Lauren), Aaron Wade (JoAnna), and Brady; his grandchildren, Devin Myers, Dixon Wade, Harris Wade, Millie Wade, and Henley Wade; his sister Denise Parrish and brother Dr. William C. Wade (Susie); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Buster is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Lamar Wade.
