Esther Darlene Self

Esther Darlene Mitchell Self, died October 6, 2017, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, after an extended illness. She was born in Kosciusko, MS, September 2, 1929, to Blanche Cook Mitchell and Eddie Mitchell. She was married to Dolan Douglas "Doug" Self, Sr., on September 1, 1946. Doug and Darlene enjoyed their decades of service to the community through their Self's Attala Music Company on the square in Kosciusko. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolan Douglas Self, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Dolan Douglas Self, Jr. (Sally) of Madison, MS, and Dwayne Self (Patty) of Canton, MS; three grandchildren, Mitchell Self of Canton, MS, Captain Samuel Self(Cheri) of Las Vegas, NV, and Allyn Self Anderson (Trey) of Ridgeland, MS; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Self and Evelyn Self of Las Vegas, NV; and many cousins and extended family.
